Special Interests

I work in a busy cancer centre treating oesophageal and gastric malignant disease. I am the Clinical Lead for Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery. I have introduced minimally invasive resections (thoracoscopic and laparoscopic) to our regular practice in Cambridge. To date I have performed more than 175 totally minimally invasive operations for oesophageal malignancy.

I have a keen interest in surgery for gastroesophageal reflux disease. I have performed a large number of laparoscopic operations for reflux and hiatus hernia. I have published a paper on laparoscopic reoperation for failed anti-reflux surgery. I also have an interest in the surgical treatment of motility disorders such as Achalasia.

I perform a large number of laparoscopic and open operations each year for all types of groin and abdominal wall hernias
